Providing Reservation Solutions

Camis and BC Parks entered into a 5-year service agreement in 2009, which was extended twice until 2019. After three years apart, Camis and BC Parks decided to renew their partnership in 2022.

Once the partnership was reaffirmed, BC Parks and Camis were determined to implement a complete reservation and registration system in three months to provide BC campers with a reliable, user-friendly booking experience for the 2022 camping season. Camis worked closely with the BC Parks team on this tight timeline and had the system up and running by the deadline of March 15, 2022. Shortly afterward, BC Parks expanded their agreement for Camis' highly trained call centre team to assist campers with general information and questions about parks. As a result, the reservation system for BC Parks secured 322,234 reservations for the entire 2022 camping season. On a monthly basis, Camis product teams continue to make advancements and improvements to the system to ensure a seamless user experience for campers.

Changes for a New Season

In early January 2023, a major change was implemented into the booking system: a rolling 4-month reservation window for reservations. In preparation for the new rolling window, Camis and BC Parks worked together to add eight new parks to the reservation system as well as new offerings at existing campgrounds. Based on the demand, these newly added campgrounds will primarily offer first-come, first-served (FCFS) camping, but also have a maximum of up to 50% of reservability on a four-month rolling window. The new offerings include Allison Lake, Muncho Lake, Gwillim Lake, Yahk, Jimsmith Lake, Norbury Lake, Lockhart Beach, and Kentucky-Alleyne. Camis looks forward to continuing its expansive partnership with BC Parks.
